Position Title: Family Service Specialist
Supervisor/Reports To: Executive Director
Department: Social Service
Job Status: Non-exempt
Type of Employment: Part-time, 28 hrs/week
Rate per Hour: $15.00–$17.00, depending on experience and education

Position Summary
The Family Service Specialist provides direct support to OCCHA clients through the Family Social Service Program, assisting them in accessing food, clothing, behavioral health, and other community resources. The specialist serves as a bilingual liaison between clients and partner agencies, ensuring effective communication, client advocacy, and follow-up. This role also supports OCCHA’s outreach and engagement efforts.

This is a partially grant-funded position, and continued employment is contingent upon the availability of funding.

 Program Responsibilities
Family Social Service Program:
Assist clients with intake forms and provide access to services, including food and clothing distribution.
Assess client needs and make referrals to partnering agencies for services such as behavioral health, housing, employment, family services, social security, and other community resources.
Provide technical assistance to clients, including phone support, completing applications, and job search guidance.
Document and maintain client records, participation in OCCHA programs, and statistical reports in coordination with intake clerks and program coordinators.
Support and participate in community outreach events, including health fairs, workshops, educational fairs, and other OCCHA events.
Maintain communication with partner agencies to stay updated on available programs and services.
Perform clerical tasks as needed, including data entry, typing, copying, and filing.
Represent OCCHA professionally in all public interactions.

Additional Duties:
Perform any other assignments as directed by the Executive Director.

 Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; social work background preferred but not required; equivalent work experience accepted.
Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
Must pass BCI/FBI background check.
Strong oral and written communication skills; organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Ability to work effectively in a team setting and collaborate with partners, youth, and families.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), typing, and filing.
Must have a car, valid driver’s license, and proof of insurance.

 Funding Note
This position is partially funded by external grants. Employment is contingent upon continued grant funding, and in the event of grant cessation, the Executive Director and Board of Trustees will review the position’s viability.

 Position Summary
The Interpretation and Health Service Liaison oversees OCCHA’s Interpretation Program and Mental Health Navigator Program, ensuring high-quality, client-centered services and alignment with program goals and strategic priorities. This is a grant-funded position, and continued employment is dependent on the availability of funding.

 Interpretation Program:
Coordinate and oversee interpretation services for OCCHA clients and partner agencies, including scheduling appointments and overseeing interpreters.
Provide interpretation when necessary to ensure effective communication between clients and service providers.
Maintain relationships with agencies receiving interpretation services from OCCHA.
Track and document interpretation services, contracts, and referrals.
Ensure program goals are met and that services align with OCCHA’s strategic plan and desired outcomes.

Provide document translation services for contracted agencies and OCCHA clients. 

Mental Health Navigator Program:
Connect clients to mental health and behavioral health resources, as well as other OCCHA programs.
Follow up with clients to confirm appointments, assess needs, and provide ongoing support.
Advocate on behalf of clients for access to mental health services and OCCHA resources.
Participate in community outreach to promote the Mental Health Navigator Program.
Prepare monthly program reports and assist with grant writing and data collection as needed.

 Skills and Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; 4-year degree or background in medical or management fields preferred but not required.
Must be bilingual in English and Spanish.
Must pass BCI/FBI background check.
Strong oral and written communication skills; organized with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher), typing, and filing skills.
Ability to work well with clients, youth, and families.
